Mythology Suggestions

Kristen had me read the Daughter of Smoke and Bones books, and I've really enjoyed them. I'm looking for either more fantasy that uses a non-standard fantasy/mythology set to them (either YA or not) like is done in Daughter of Smoke and Bones or for some collection of mythology that hits on stuff that's not Greek/Roman or Arthurian.

C.E. Murphy wrote two urban fantasy series "The Negotiator" and "Urban Shaman".  They're pretty decent books.  The Negotiator uses some of the 'second string' mythical creatures, things you don't normally see in fantasy books (gargoyles, selkies, djinn).  Urban Shaman taps into both Celtic and Native American mythologies for an interesting dynamic.

And there's always "American Gods" by Neil Gaiman, which uses basically all of the world mythologies.  His writing tone is not my favorite, but I did appreciate the convergence of neat mythologies.

I've read American Gods, but those two seem really interesting. The idea of djinn/gargoyles/selkies is definitely interesting sounding.
