Arev travels further into the world of Tainted Grail: Fall of Avalon. I continue my journey into the grim dark fantasy setting that is the land of Avalon and the Wyrdness that is pushing humans off of the land. Can Arev figure out where to…
New video up on the Malts and Meeples Youtube/Twitch channel. It is a bit shorter game than some, but it’s also not game play, it’s just an unboxing of Tainted Grail.
Tainted Grail is a big story driven game from Awaken Realms who have done games like Nemesis and Lords of Hellas. In Tainted Grail, you play as not that heroic characters who are pulled into adventuring as the Menhir (statues that drive back the wyrdness) are starting to go out. Can you keep them lit in order to complete the quests? It’s a story game, but also a survival game as you are dealing with diplomatic and combat encounters. I don’t spoil any cards in the video, don’t worry, or the adventure journal which really drives the game.
The beer last night was from O’Dell Brewing Co. A big barrel aged beer, I really enjoyed Barreled Treasure Imperial Stout. It’s barrel aged as I said with cold brew coffee as well. I think it’s a beer that is better a bit warmer because you get more of the flavors. It’s also sitting at 11%, so a good beer for a cold winter night.

No game tonight, but I open up my copy of Zombicide Green Horde from CMON. I won the game from All Systems Go in Minneapolis, Minnesota with their 1 year anniversary sale. I plan on playing through the intro scenario in an upcoming stream.
Tonight’s beer is from Founders, their Dark, Rich, and Sexy Porter. It has a good robust taste to it and isn’t too sweet, which too many porters are. I don’t know that it’s one of my favorite dark beers, but I an many ways really look for those high ABV or barrel aged dark beers that help you feel warm in the winter.
Trying my hand at this for the first time to see how it goes to unbox something. Also, this was supposed to have gone up on Twitch, but I had issues where it said it was streaming there and it didn’t. You can find me…
Back again last night, still on Youtube, but still planning to move over to Twitch soon here. I played two different roll and write games while drinking a beer from Dogfish Head brewery. The games were Welcome To… in which you are building up your…
After an exciting run of games, I am wrapping up Pandemic Legacy Season 1. See how it all ends and find out how well I did in the game.
Pandemic Legacy is a Cooperative board game that I’m playing as a solo game where you try and cure diseases that are ravaging the earth. But we play a team from the CDC who are trying to stop it. Was I able to stop it all in time or did the diseases get the better of me? You can find out more about Pandemic Legacy Season 1 on Board Game Geek HERE.
I, of course, also had a beer. This was Phosphorescent by Freethought brewing out of New York. I was not a huge fan of this beer. For a Pale Ale, the beer was quite sweet and didn’t have a hop profile to go up against it.
Join me next time as I take on a new game. I might do a few non-campaign games, Welcome To…, Criss Cross, and The Reckoners before I jump into a bigger game. I am also thinking about making the move to Twitch, but more on that when it comes up. The videos will still be uploaded to Youtube, just not streamed there.
After a week off, I was back at it with Pandemic Legacy Season 1. How did I fair this time as I tried to save the world from diseases and drink a beer? Spoiler, the beer was drank. Pandemic is a game where you are…
