New video up on the Malts and Meeples Youtube/Twitch channel. It is a bit shorter game than some, but it’s also not game play, it’s just an unboxing of Tainted Grail. Tainted Grail is a big story driven game from Awaken Realms who have done…
Back with another Kickstarted, so many different projects that I talked about and a ton of cool ones out there. In fact, there were enough that it took me an hour and 20 minutes to get through it all.
That was almost enough time to finish my New Belgium barrel aged beer. It was aged in Knob Creek Bourbon barrel, and for a barrel aged beer, it was lacking in the depth of flavor that one would come to expect.
I’m not going to list out all the kickstarters this time, because there are a lot of them and some are ending shortly anyways. But a few highlights, two that I’m getting anyways, are Oathsworn, this is a narrative driven fantasy adventure game. The selling point is card combat and a great app that drives the story for you. The other being Village Attacks. Played this one at GenCon, but it’s basically a tower defense game, but you’re playing as the monsters who are just trying to spend a peaceful evening after terrorizing the villagers, and now they are coming after you with pitchforks.
Right now there are so many different games out on Kickstarter that look good. I’m going to have to not get any kickstarters for a little while, but next year and even the end of this year will be fun, because I have a lot of great games coming. Not getting any kickstarters isn’t going to keep me from doing these videos, so look for one next month.
No game tonight, but I open up my copy of Zombicide Green Horde from CMON. I won the game from All Systems Go in Minneapolis, Minnesota with their 1 year anniversary sale. I plan on playing through the intro scenario in an upcoming stream. Tonight’s…
Trying my hand at this for the first time to see how it goes to unbox something. Also, this was supposed to have gone up on Twitch, but I had issues where it said it was streaming there and it didn’t. You can find me…
Back again last night, still on Youtube, but still planning to move over to Twitch soon here. I played two different roll and write games while drinking a beer from Dogfish Head brewery.
The games were Welcome To… in which you are building up your perfect 1950’s neighborhood. It’s a good and a bit more complex than some roll and write games. The solo mode that comes in the base game, I think is okay, though it doesn’t stand out as amazing.
The first game played was Criss Cross. Technically, this game has no solo mode, but it’s simple enough that it’s easy enough to play a few times and just see how good a score you can get, which is really how it works for Welcome To… as well.
I’ve had a lot of fun getting these games to the table with groups, and it felt like a good pallet cleanser sort of game for between some larger games. So hopefully it was fun to watch.
I also had Slightly Mighty Lo-Cal IPA from Dogfish Head. It’s not a beer that I’m a huge fan of, it mainly just is not a stand out beer in terms of an IPA. The bitterness level isn’t that high, and the hop flavor isn’t coming through all that strongly.
After an exciting run of games, I am wrapping up Pandemic Legacy Season 1. See how it all ends and find out how well I did in the game. Pandemic Legacy is a Cooperative board game that I’m playing as a solo game where you…
After a week off, I was back at it with Pandemic Legacy Season 1. How did I fair this time as I tried to save the world from diseases and drink a beer? Spoiler, the beer was drank. Pandemic is a game where you are…
We’re back, the break was a little longer than I had planned, but with the 4th it made it hard to stream. So how is our game of Pandemic Legacy Season 1 going to go this time?
And what is Pandemic Legacy? In the game, you are trying to cure diseases on an ever changing board where rules are added, cities run into troubles, and the diseases can even change. You can find more information at Board Game Geek.
I also tried out a new beer and brewery to me. It was O’so Brewing Company and their beer Hop Debauchery. This was a good tasting New England Double IPA. So pretty tropical in flavor, but not too sweet. There was a good grapefruit flavor that wasn’t just bitter, but had a good depth of flavor. A beer that I’d definitely try again.
How did the latest game in Pandemic Legacy go? As we get closer to the end game, has anything new been revealed that will change the game going forward? Pandemic Legacy Season 1 is a board game where you are trying to cure diseases. But…
