For those not familiar, American Gods is a book by Neil Gaiman. He has written a lot of other fantasy-esque books such as Coraline, Stardust, Neverwhere, and many other books. Starz has picked up the option to create a series based on his novel American Gods.

And now we are starting to get some casting news.

“American Gods,” Starz’s TV adaptation of Neil Gaiman’s beloved fantasy novel, has cast Ricky Whittle in the lead role of Shadow Moon, the premium cabler announced Thursday.
