Why are they making a movie about Warcraft?

Don’t they know that video game movies rarely if ever work out? I have little to no hope for this movie. However, I will probably still see it, why? Because just watching the teaser even, it looks like a movie that is a video game, the styling and everything looks so much like a video game, and I’m curious to see how that will play out and what that could be used for in the future.
