Deadpool had a large opening weekend, especially for an R-rated film. I can say having been one of the people to see it over the opening weekend, it is worth the money for the over the top gratuitousness of the film in every area. But it isn’t just gratuitous for gratuitousness sake, it actually has a solid story behind it, and is very well written.

The irreverent Ryan Reynolds superhero flick Deadpool earned $150m at the US box office over the four-day President’s Weekend – the highest opening of all time for an R-rated movie.
