The Page

This page I have mixed feelings on. I think that they do a good job of highlighting how beautiful the game looks, but not a great job of teaching me how to play it. I know I could look at the rule book or play on Tabletopia or TableTopSimulator, but I should have a better idea from just looking at the page, and even going over the how to play section twice, I feel like I’m still not completely up on it. Also, they have the pledge levels before the game play section, this is normal, but they aren’t highlighting minis or any extra special component, game play for me should be first.

That said, with the team that they have, and the way that they can highlight what looks like something peaceful on the table really works. They did a great job of making sure that it looks like how they describe it, peaceful, poetic, tranquil. And there is definitely an aesthetic charm to it.

The Game

I put this in a con, and I think it’s my biggest con, this looks like a filler game, but not only does it look like a filler game, I’m not sure how much more it does than a lot of other filler games, not as in more complexity, but just as to what would set it apart as being that much better or more unique.

It seems like the variety is coming from the objective tokens and the panoramic that is being created, which is interesting. I also see that cards are being drafted in sets, possibly. Again, I am trying to get a good feel for the game, and I feel like I get some general glimpses at the game, but the gifs and descriptions are lacking for me.

Back or Brick

First, let me say that I love this aesthetic, and this game has good pedigree in terms of the designer, so my guess is that it’s an enjoyable game. But looking at this Kickstarter, I personally don’t have enough information on how it plays or see anything that makes me feel like I’d be missing out if I didn’t pick this on up on Kickstarter. For me it’s a brick. I think if someone were to back it, the game would probably be enjoyable to play, but for me nothing stands out as something that’s going to displace my current filler types of games.

How about for you, is this a back or a brick?
