Big pack blowout happened last Saturday. I had the evening free, so it was time to bust open some more Magic the Gathering and Pokemon packs. This time with a bit more variety. I opened more Lord of the Rings collectors packs, two commander decks, a box of Dungeons and Dragons themed cards, and the newest Pokemon set as well. Join me to see if I pulled anything great.

Lord of the Rings – Magic the Gathering

So just to quickly go over what I opened. Four more collectors packs and two commander decks. I got them for different reasons. The collectors packs, obviously the chase for the one ring. But also just the chase to find more cool cards, because there are a lot of amazing cards in the set that I don’t own. And the collectors packs are the way to get full art cards, things like that.

But for the commander decks, I do like to pick those up for the purpose of playing them. Are they worth it, probably for the lands in there, but to have two constructed decks that I can use to play Magic the Gathering, that’s a nice thing to have. I don’t want to hunt down cards to play. Though, if I have cooler versions from the collectors packs, those might be added in.

Dungeons and Dragons – Magic the Gathering

As for Dungeons and Dragons, I got a set booster box for that. Why, because it’s Dungeons and Dragons and I wanted to see that set. There are some fun things in the set. I think that there are other products that are better value than what I got. But I really enjoyed opening it up and seeing the different artworks and nods to the game that I play and like a lot in Dungeons and Dragons.

Paldea Evolved – Pokemon

Finally a box that was a complex bust, which was weird. But nothing from the Paldea Evolved box, though I have opened other Paldea Evolved product and had better luck. I picked the Elite Trainer box because it offers me some storage as well as cards. And sometimes you just need storage to hold your bulk cards.

More Pack Openings to Come of Lord of the Rings, Magic the Gathering, Pokemon, and More?

That was a fun Saturday evening. I could see doing that in the future again. Collecting a number of different products across Magic the Gathering, Pokemon, and the Star Wars TCG when that comes out from Fantasy Flight Games.

Do I ever expect to make my money back on things like opening up boxes. Nope, I don’t for sure. But it’s just fun to see the new artwork and things like that. I have already ordered some of the Doctor Who products that are coming out later this year. I’ll be checking those out and I might save other sealed products I pick up to show off and look at then as well.
