The drums keep on as we continue the Drums of Desolation threat in The 7th Citadel. Will we be able to figure out what we need to track those rumblings? The 7th Citadel – Difference in Missions

So let’s talk about the missions and how there are differences in the missions. Because I feel like that’s a unique element to the game that sometimes is missed in story games. For example, most of the missions in Gloomhaven were kick down the door, take out all the bad guys, mission is won. Frosthaven is changing that, but The 7th Citadel in two missions already has changed that, actually since the beginning has changed it.

At the start it was a race against time to try and get out of the collapsing citadel. But the time pressures weren’t that high. The second mission, it was explore part of the map and figure out where and how to push down on the map. But it was about spending the resources to get where we needed. Almost messed that one up.

And then this one was simpler. Just get four parts of the singing lane onto the map and then push your luck. It’s a question of how many resource will you spend to get what you need. Turns out that it wasn’t that many for me, but there is a risk that you’ll need to push your luck a few times. And I think it works well. It makes the scenario feel different from the other ones. This one is way more about the dialog than the exploration.

Now I want to know what sort of missions are going to come in the Drums of Desolation. And it’s interesting watching Meet Me At the Table’s playthrough and see how there are differences in what the missions are that are pretty notable. So the game is going to offer a lot of variability.

Upcoming Streams

On Monday I play small solo game plays. The schedule is, right now, going to look like gaming every other Monday. A chance to see people in person came up for Monday and as much as I like streaming, it’s good to socialize as well. And I might do more deck construction with Star Wars Unlimited on Mondays as well or pack openings.

On Wednesdays, I play solo campaign games. I plan on playing a campaign game coming up. Right now I’m torn between two games. Well, more than that if you watched through the end of the video. And that is more of The 7th Citadel. I plan to keep playing through The Drums of Desolation for a while so join me for that.
