It’s not time to be done with anime for this fall. And I expect that I am going to watch more, but let’s do a quick rundown of all the new ones that I’m watching. Why, because I’ll probably all off some over time and I don’t want to miss talking about them and why that is the case. Because I think there are a lot of great ones coming out now. But also some that are just okay.

Fall Anime Round-up

The Apothecary Diaries (Season 3 Part 1)

This is a classic. We’re not that far into season three, one episode, but it’s already interesting. My only knock on this anime’s start to season three is that there are so many questions. I would say that there are too many questions that it just throws at you and then leave sitting there open at the end of the episode. The first episode too introduces you to the mystery, but I’d like a little more of a sub-mystery that Maomao could have solved to start.

Reborn as Space Mercenary: I Woke Up Piloting the Strongest Starship!

I already knew that I’d like this one because I read some of the manga. But the anime is also a lot of fun and does the manga justice. This is not going to be an anime for everyone. It is an isekai set in space and a harem anime as well. It does not shy away from that latter fact, but it also doesn’t dwell on it too much. The fact it is, is generally played for laughs in a way that works. But overall it is what I wanted it to be.

Magical Explorer

This is an anime that is built around fan service. The main character awakens in an world of an adult video game. But he is the side character, not the main character. He knows that for a side character they always end up not getting lucky to the main character. So his goal is to buck that and become the main character himself. This is going to be one with adult moments, often played for laughs, and just overall a lot of fan service. I’m not sure if it’s worth sticking with for plot at this point.

Overgeared

Overgeared is one that I knew that I’d like from this seasons anime because I have already read some of it. I am getting more so that I can stay up with it. Based off of a Web Comic, this is one about a player in a video game, not stuck there, but trying to make a living from this super popular game. He gets a special class but that’s about all that is going right for him. The main character is a good character, mainly because he isn’t always good character. He is often annoying or frustrated and sometimes a bit crass. But he treats it like a video game which sometimes other anime don’t do with a similar premise.

The Laid-Off Cheat Granting Mage Enjoys a Second Lease on Life

It’s a mouthful of an anime title, so I’m just calling it Laid-Off Mage. But Laid-Off Mage is a fun anime. It’s one where the main character is laid off, as the title suggested, so save his old guild money. Turns out that his enchantment skills are crazy good. So when he steals them all back his skill level just becomes absurd. None of his gear is really up to that level. It’s an anime where the main character is over powered and has a lot of heart and is generally clueless. That combo makes for a fun time.

Full Clearing Another World Under a Goddess with 0 Believers

Another long title anime, most of them are at the bottom here for some reason. Another isekai for the list and this one is about a character who doesn’t get great stats. Everyone else from his school who is stuck there with him does. So he is just kind of left behind. A goddess, though, becomes interested in him and his powers. Mainly because she has no followers and hasn’t for ages. I’m assuming he’ll become overpowered at some point, so a common trope, but I’m here for it.

A Returners Magic Should Be Special (Season 2)

Another second season of an anime, or another season of an anime I should say, on the list. I like this one. The main premise is that the main character comes back from the future where things are horrible. Can he make a change and save the world. This world blends all sorts of different settings and some interesting story telling. I think that the first season is better than the second, and they do an annoying thing where they change how a characters name is pronounced in it. But I still like it and the characters.

As a Reincarnated Aristocrat I’ll Use My Appraisal Skill to Rise in the World

Weeeee, the final mouthful anime title. The Reincarnated Aristocrat though has some good things going for it. Mainly a main character who is not just another fighter. Instead he can see how strong someone can become and knows their potential. He knows that sometime in the future he’ll take over at the leader of the family, so as a kid, how can he set himself up best and raise up his families status. Is it amazing, no, but I think it is fun enough to keep watching.

So that’s the list of everything that I’ve checked out. There are some very fun ones on the list. And a few that just kind of scratch that itch of being an enjoyable anime but not offering much more. Thus far I’ve just stuck with Crunchyroll, but I know there are some HIDIVE ones to checkout as well. What are you watching? And which are your favorites?
