Time to play more of The 7th Citadel from Serious Pulp Games. Join me for a slightly abbreviated play of the first scenario of Drums of Desolation. Why abbreviated, well, because my computer decided to crash again. I’m trying to work on that so it’s not an issue. But I got a good forty minutes or so of The 7th Citadel in and explored some of the world. Join me to see what I saw and where the story will continue from.

The 7th Citadel – Drums of Desolation

It’s time to start exploring what the regular game looks like. And I’m not sure if the image for the video will show that for you, as it’s not showing the right thing for me. Yay crashed stream messing around with what I can do. But the video is there.

But, with enough of my bemoaning that fact, it is interesting to dive into the story here versus what the New Beginnings was. New Beginnings is obviously a pretty tightly focused and contained story. It helps you get an idea of how that mechanisms in the game work, but does this continue that element of the game?

I think that it does in some ways, but not so much in other ways. It kind of sets up a gate around what you’re doing in the game. As I explore my “ground shiver” level locks me away from some sections of the board. Basically, the game warning me that in some areas I might run into bigger and scarier monsters than I can handle.

On the flip side, it also is a much more open game than the New Beginnings section of the game. There I am very limited in where I can explore. And they want you to do everything and then continue forward. Here, it is more open. Do I go south and east or south and west, most of that is going to be open, it doesn’t really matter.

Do you like how it opens up after the New Beginnings? It seems more like The 7th Continent that way, though not fully. So let me know your thoughts.

Upcoming Streams

On Monday I play small solo game plays. The schedule is, right now, going to look like gaming every other Monday. A chance to see people in person came up for Monday and as much as I like streaming, it’s good to socialize as well. And I might do more deck construction with Star Wars Unlimited on Mondays as well or pack openings.

On Wednesdays, I play solo campaign games. I plan on playing a campaign game coming up. Right now I’m torn between two games. Well, more than that if you watched through the end of the video. And that is more of The 7th Citadel. I plan to keep playing through The Drums of Desolation for a while so join me for that.
