Most Anticipated Television Shows of 2025

It’s time for another list. My Top 5 Television shows that I’m anticipating in 2025. Now, this list is not going to be like the anime list. I do plan on putting on some shows that have already been out. But the key thing is that these television shows need to have a new season coming out in 2025. If they don’t, just me catching up on them doesn’t count for the list. So let’s see what television shows make the list.

Top 5 Anticipated Television Shows

5. The Residence

This is supposed to be a whodunnit and I like those. Especially since this one is supposed to be a comedy one and the cast looks great. It is set in the White House too, which is interesting location for something that uses the term screwball to define itself. And the cast is looking great, Uzo Aduba, Giancarlo Esposito, and Randall Park are some of them on the list. And that start to the list is strong. So I hope that is going to be a fun show that is worth checking out on Netflix.

4. IT: Welcome to Derry

I know I won’t watch this this year. It’s on HBO and I am not going to get HBO just to watch this. Yes, HBO does offer more, but I stand by what I say, and I don’t see a ton else I want to get a streaming service for, even for a bit. But this is a great reminder to me that the show is coming out and that it is probably time for some more creepy clowns.

I also need to watch the movies for IT, but I love the book. It is one that I read often. So for that reason, I suspect that it is going to be a show that I’d enjoy, if they can adapt and create a rich history for Pennywise. My big concern is that since I know where it ends, or how it has to end, it’s going to feel like an unneeded growth of the mythos.

3. Alien: Earth

It seems odd that we wouldn’t have had an Alien show before, but there is one coming now. For me, this feels like a good time to dig into the Alien lore and movies that are out there. And it being on FX is probably a good sign for what the budget might be and how safe they will play it. I expect it to be a good horror and suspense film. But, because of the theme, I want to watch it, but we’ll see if that happens or not. It is one that I likely will find out the reviews for before I dive in. The top two spots really are the ones that I know I will watch.

2. Stranger Things

I think this could even rival my top one, but you can probably guess what that is if you saw the movies list. But the final season of Stranger Things is going to be interesting. How do they wrap up the story after the events of the last season? And what is going to happen with Max? I expect that there are going to be more questions asked as well for the show.

So I am just excited to see what they do with it, as while not every season has been my favorite or every element of a the seasons do I love, I want to go back to Hawkins and see what is happening there with the upside down.

1. Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man
Daredevil: Born Again
Ironheart
Eyes of Wakanda
Marvel Zombies
Wonder Man

Of course Marvel is at the top of the list. And I am putting down all the live action and animated shows for it. I’m excited for all of them, including Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man which has looked more fun with the new trailer that is out. And that one is coming out in 26 days, on January 29th, as of when I’m writing this.

But I’m really excited to see what Wonder Man, Ironheart, and Daredevil: Born Again have to offer as the live action shows. How is Daredevil: Born Again going to be continue but be MCU connected from the Netflix show? What is the connection between Riri Williams, The Hood, and Mephisto that is being teased in plot leaks for Ironheart? And what type of story will they tell with Wonder Man? I can’t wait for all of those questions and more to be answered.

Which Show Do You Want to Watch?

I know that I left a lot of people’s top shows off the list. Things like The Last Of Us and Severance would be very high I am sure. But I need to watch the first seasons for those before I can comment. And as I made the comment with IT: Welcome to Derry, do I get another streaming service, even for a bit, just to watch a show. I already have a handful that I use often, so I don’t really want to add in more.

And I also know that there will be shows announced for 2025 that won’t hit television. And I expect that I will find other shows in 2025 that I want to watch. Because, especially when you think about the fall schedule, that is up in the air for a lot of companies. And there are other shows, like Andor, that I do have the streaming service for. So I might get to watching season one before season two comes out as well. But I say that, and I know Marvel is going to keep me very busy watching this year.
